Name: The Blue Beat
Founded: 1982
City: Jülich
History:
It was 1982 when three kids met in a pub after a Jülich punk concert. Still intoxicated with beer and music, they decided to become pop stars. Nobody mastered an instrument and so they tried it out to make friends with contemporary punk …….. …….. but a year later after the success was not foreseeable, they changed their style of music. This music, which was actually out at that time, was called SKA and in England it was called BLUE BEAT. And that’s how the new band name came about. A SKA boom spread across Europe and across the pond and The Blue Beat was immortalized on SKA samplers that were sold worldwide (the Fan Post confirms it today).
